Choosing a material

There are five to choose from, depending on where the bottle goes and the look you want:

• Standard — an everyday label for bottles kept indoors and handled gently, and the lowest-cost of the five.
• Thin film — a water-resistant film that shrugs off splashes and light moisture; best kept indoors.
• Transparent — a clear film so the label almost disappears and the glass shows through, for a no-label look; an indoor option.
• Vinyl — a waterproof, more durable label that handles moisture and both indoor and outdoor use, the toughest of the five.
• Spot UV — a raised, glossy clear coat over chosen areas, so a logo or name stands out with a shine you can feel.

If a bottle is handled a lot or gets wet, vinyl is the sturdiest choice; if you want the glass to show, go transparent.

Sizes, and fitting your bottles

Perfume and attar bottles are small and often round, so the label has to sit on the curve without wrinkling. As a rough guide, small attar bottles and sample vials take the smaller sizes, standard perfume bottles the middle sizes, and larger bottles the bigger ones, and a narrow bottle needs a shorter label so it wraps cleanly rather than overlapping itself.

With 17 stock sizes from 1×1 in to 6×6 in plus a custom size, and round, square, oval or custom shapes, you can match the label to the bottle rather than the other way round. Attar bottles in particular come in a range of small, ornate shapes, so a custom die-cut often fits them best.

How do I set up my artwork?

Send your design as a vector file (AI or PDF) or 300dpi artwork with a 3mm bleed, sized to your label, or design one online in the studio. Because we print digitally, colours are matched as closely as possible but can vary slightly. After you order, we share a free proof 24 hours after your order is placed, and print only once you approve.
